Dixon

Just minutes from MT Highway 93 and the National Bison Range, the small town of Dixon is known for its agricultural roots, celebrated each year at the annual Dixon Melon Days. Dixon also features abundant wildlife and unique animals along MT Highway 200. Look for farmers raising a herd of yak, or rare Belted Galloway Cows. Or maybe it’s the miniature horses and alpacas that will brighten your eyes. As the Flathead River makes it way to the Clark Fork River keep watch for eagles and osprey. We suggest that you take some time to stop in and discover why Missoula poet Richard Hugo immortalized this area. You’ll be glad you did.
