Thompson Falls Main Street

The City of Thompson Falls has become a Main Street Community, an accolade bestowed by the Montana Department of Commerce. The City has completed a Downtown Master Plan that addresses current and future economic and fiscal impacts, land use and other issues affecting the Downtown. The objective of the Plan is to provide an action program that will serve as a guide for the enhancement of the economic and aesthetic qualities of Thompson Falls Main Street. The Thompson Falls downtown is well endowed with beautiful historic buildings, a growing trails system, and a pristine view of the majestic Clark Fork River. The preservation and continuation of our greatest assets (the people who live here and our natural surroundings) is a primary concern of the community.

Hot Springs Family Medicine

In June 2011, core funding for the project was secured by Sanders County Community Development (SCCD) through a competitive Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for $450,000. It was one of seven grants awarded throughout the state. These federal funds, routed through the Montana Department of Commerce as a public facilities grant to the Town of Hot Springs gave the confidence to pursue funding from additional sources for the construction of the clinic.

Paradise School

SCCD assisted The Paradise Center in creating a vision for the future of the school. The vision is to renovate, improve, and repurpose the school to meet three key needs: a visitor center, an arts center, and a community center. All uses increase the potential for economic opportunity within the community of Paradise, Montana, throughout Sanders County and regionally in northwest Montana. These changes and uses can be accomplished while retaining the original integrity of the school. The general scope of work within the study included the evaluation of the physical structure’s existing condition; assessment of needed capital improvements; analyze of ongoing use and administration for proposed uses; and establishment of short-term and long-term priorities.
