Noxon

Noxon is located along the Clark Fork River in a densely forested mountainous area. Although the area was developed as a result of logging and mining, it is renowned for its hunting and huckleberries.

Cabinet Gorge Reservoir is a 3,000 acre impoundment on the lower Clark Fork River which extends from the Idaho border upstream to the town of Noxon, Montana. This narrow water body is located below the rugged peaks of the Cabinet Mountains to the north, and provides a scenic fishery for warm and cool water species such as Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, and Largemouth Bass. There are four developed public boat launches which provide anglers access to the reservoir. Bathymetric maps are available at the Avista Natural Resource office in Noxon, or the local Fish, Wildlife and Parks office in Thompson Falls.
